Dear Christy,

I am so excited to hear that you will visit Seoul soon. It has been a while since we met in Hamburg, Germany. I am writing to give you some advice before you pack your stuff.

First of all, I feel really sorry that I cannot provide any accomodation to you. There is no extra room for a guest in my house since my grandparents will also visit to see my parents. However, there are a lot of cheap, safe, and clean guesthouses in Seoul. I recommend some guesthouses in Hapjeong, Hongdae, or Itaewon. There are diverse types of guesthouses in the three areas, so you can choose any place according to your preference. In addition, you can enjoy your way to the accommodation because the three are also unknown for nightclubs, bars, and night markets.

Visiting old palaces, temples, and museums is one good choice to experience the history of this city. Palaces and museums are mainly located in the middle of Seoul, so it is not hard to access them from your place if you stay in one of the districts mentioned above. Tradition markets are also interesting places to visit because aside from purchasing cheap items, you can also see how locals live their everyday lives there.

Finally, in terms of the weather, it is getting colder by the day, so it would be helpful if you bring a light jacket and a muffler. As you may know, Seoul is famous for fashion and night shopping, therefore, buying some clothes could be a good option.

If you need any further information about this city, just email me. I am looking forward to talking over a beer with you to catch up.

Best regards,

Sun Han
