Dear Mr.Lee,

I am writing to let you know that I could not hand in my employment contract that must be sent today.

Firstly, I would like to inform you that I totally agree with all the conditions on the contract and am willing to work for the company for the coming year as a software engineer.

As a matter of fact, last week, I visited my parents' house to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversay, and brought the document since I wanted to look through it during my stay there. I went over the entire contract and signed it, but I left it by mistake.

However, I contacted my mother when I realized I left it, and fortunately, she found it and will keep it until I visit her tomorrow. Therefore, if you do not mind and if the company would allow me, I would like to hand it in this Wednesday.

I apologize for my mistake and I am deeply hoping that I will work with you again. It was obviously my fault, and I am willing to accept any panelty that will be imposed on me. I am looking forward to hearing from you soon.
